Sea Turtle Foundation has worked with pupils at Townsville schools to learn about the issues faced by sea turtles today. The children turned their lessons into artworks that clearly convey the message:
we want
Turtles for Tomorrow!
Sea Turtle Foundation have used these artworks to create the Turtles for Tomorrow 2010 calendar. The calendar shows the clarity of children’s thought: turtles are threatened by human activities; we can make changes to save the turtles; so let’s make those changes.
Through this calendar we can learn from our children.
Calendar Launch
The calendar will be launched on Saturday 05 September at 12:30pm at Aitkenvale library. All are welcome to attend. The launch coincides with Threatened Species Day, a fitting gesture as all 7 of the world’s sea turtle species face the real danger of extinction if they are not given room to live and a clean ocean to live in.

Artwork Exhibition
Sea Turtle Foundation received almost 250 artworks for this project so unfortunately many excellent pieces could not fit into the calendar. But all of these children have learnt about the impacts on sea turtles and what can be done to help.
All of these wonderful artworks are on display as follows:
Sea Turtle Foundation thanks everyone who has been involved in this project, especially our Prep to Year 7 artists for showing us how easy it could be to make sure there are turtles for tomorrow!
