We may have a focus on sea turtles, but we love sharks too! The government of Western Australia is currently trialling a shark cull program, catching sharks on baited drum lines and killing those over 3 metres long, ostensibly to protect swimmers on beaches.  Queensland’s shark control program has proven that the bycatch of turtles, rays, and other animals on these drum lines is severe, and most people agree that we don’t want to see our megafauna destroyed.  Read our position on shark culling in WA (and in the rest of Australia) here.
